Classical Conversations began over 11 years ago in NC when a mom sought out a group to learn classically with her sons.   Leigh Bortins created a program that is now used and loved by thousands of homeschoolers across the nation.   Classical Conversations began in Gainesville in 2009.

We are group of moms who meet with their homeschooled children and use the Classical Model of Education within a Biblical worldview.   The Foundations class meets one morning per week and our studies include history, math, science, timeline, Bible, English grammar, geography, and presentations.   In addition, we do science experiments, practice fine arts, eat lunch together, and have time playing games in the gym.   For ages K4 through 6th grade. Our Essentials class meets once per week from 1:00 until 3:00.   We have an amazing grammar program and use the highly acclaimed Institute for Excellence in Writing for our writing program.   For math, we have races and games that the kids love.   For 4th through 6th or 7th grade.

Cornerstone Academy in Gainesville offers a full college preparatory academic program in a combination schedule of classroom study and home study.   Cornerstone is a Christ-Centered classical school that utilizes time-honored classical methods of instruction that integrate subjects, equipping students with tools for life-long learning and systematic thinking.   Along with the basics of reading, writing, arithmetic, English grammar, Latin and logic, we also teach computer, robotics, science, worldviews, and rhetoric.   At Cornerstone we teach students to think, reason and evaluate their experiences in light of the scriptures.   Cornerstone offers a variety of extracurricular activities and a boasts a growing, thriving athletics program for all ages that includes JV and varsity basketball, volleyball, and football.

The Moms' Group's main focus is to encourage moms in ways to build Christ-like character in our hearts and homes while teaching our children.  Doors open at 6:00 for fellowship, free library and homeschool book swap.  Meetings start at 7:00, and include topics such as organization, prioritizing, teaching tips, and more.

The O2B Homeschool Program enhances the academic curriculum of every child and provides a valuable setting to build social skills and self-esteem.  Classes like science, art, drama, history and sign language provide enriching opportunities for children to expand their horizons.  Classes run during the regular school year with a graduation in May.  The children also put together a yearbook, go on great field trips and benefit from outside speakers.  The O2B Homeschool Program is the perfect compliment to any curriculum.  Homeschooling is offered to children beginning in Kindergarten.

Sun Country Sports Center is delighted to recognize the Homeschoolers in Gainesville and surrounding areas.   If your child is 5 years old or older, then we have a physical fitness program for them.   We now offer Sun Country's R.E.C.E.S.S. Program that will teach your child gymnastics, tumbling, rock climbing, swimming and fitness training.   We provide a place for homeschool children to socialize, exercise, and have lot's of fun in the process!   Our goal is also to complete the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge and to allow your child to grow in all areas concerning fitness.
