The Gainesville Association for the Creative Arts was founded in 1967 by parents and educators who wanted education in the arts to be available to all area children.  They recognized the positive relationship among education in the arts, academics, and self-esteem. S-Connection Aerial & Equestrian Arts (SCAEA) has offered aerial dance classes in the Gainesville area since 2008 and is now opening classes for kids! Owner/operator Corey Souza has over 10 years of teaching experience and has performed with circuses in the US and Brazil. Students will learn to fly like the acrobats in Cirque du Soleil with instruction on trapeze and aerial silks. SCAEA is located at Two Hawk Hammock in Williston. Founded in 1977, Williston School of Dance (WSD) offers low-cost, high-quality dance instruction to preschoolers through young adults.   Recognized by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, the school currently trains Irish step and ceili, classical ballet, rhythm tap, jazz, and urban hip-hop dancers who come from across several counties and who span beginning to early advanced grades.   WSD is the only North Central Florida dance school offering Irish dance alongside more mainstream genres.   Students are cast in area professional ballet productions, perform year-round at area festivals and events, receive acceptance and scholarships to national intensives, and go on to study dance at the college level and to teach in the field.   Artistic Director Sarah Ingley is a member of National Dance Association, Florida Dance Association, Society of Dance History Scholars, and Dance Critics Association of America.   WSD presents an annual recital and offers a popular summer dance camp.   Visit us on Facebook!
