Join Sweet Dreams Foundation, Gainesville Fire Rescue and Sweet Dreams Homemade Ice Cream of Gainesville on May 18th, 2013 for the 4th Annual Sweet Dreams’ Touch-A-Truck event. Smaller children are invited to quiet hour from 9am to 10am so they can enjoy the vehicles without the noise of horns, sirens, bullhorns or PA systems. Attendees will be able to get up close to large vehicles they may see around town. Sweet Dreams' Touch-a-Truck provides children with a hands-on educational experience by giving them an opportunity to climb into and/or on vehicles and to talk with the operators. They will learn about the vehicles and pedestrian safety around large vehicles. This year children and adults will have an opportunity to be fitted with brand new bicycle helmet courtesy of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to Schools Grant. Helmet fittings provided by the Gainesville Cycle Club and Gainesville Bike and Pedestrian Program. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Camp Amigo! The Children's Burn Camp of North Florida.
